Beetle wings for embroidery (Red/Green)

These real beetle wings are the ultimate in luxury adornment for your finest needlework projects!

They have a beautiful iridescent colour, changing from red to green to copper depending on which way you look at them (see photos). They come either as they are (why not use shisha stitch to attach them?) or pre-drilled ready for you to sew on; a hole at each end to hold the wing securely or just the hole at the top to make them dangle. Now also in matched pairs with holes! Wings range from 3-4cm in length and are approximately 1cm wide.

NOTE: This colour is very rare and I am low on stocks while I try to source more. There are plenty of the Blue/Green colour available however!

This item is for 5 wings OR pairs of wings. Blue/green wings are also available in the same combinations! See below.

Please note: the wings are organic so inevitably they will differ slightly in colour, shape, texture and size. The red wings are rarer than the blue/green ones,  the price difference reflects this.

These wings come from the Asian beetle Stenocera aequisignata and are a by product of an every day food source. They are farmed in accordance with the regulations of CITES (Convention of International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora).
