Distance learning project in Jacobean crewelwork for beginners
This distance learning project 'Spring' is an original hand embroidery project taught to you by Sarah. This project looks in detail at the Jacobean crewelwork technique and covers some of the fundamental stitches of crewelwork including:
Trellis work, satin stitch, long and short, buttonhole, seeding, french knots and stem stitch.
Level: Suitable for beginners, those new to the crewelwork technique or those wanting to brush up on their stitching skills.
Learning is by video and instruction book; you are guided through every part of this project, so sit and stitch along with Sarah!
To find out more about how our distance learning courses work, please visit the Distance Learning Class page here. Please note, you will need a YouTube/Google login to watch the videos but don't worry if you haven't got one, we can guide you through this simple process.
When you purchase please leave the following information in the special instructions (at step 2 of checkout, 'Details'):
The name of the person who will be stitching the project (yourself or if it's a gift, the recipient of the gift).
The normal contact e-mail address for this person (for ongoing communication between Sarah and the stitcher).
The email address the stitcher uses to log in to YouTube (so we can tell YouTube to allow this person access to the videos).
Please note, you will not be able to start the course until we have this information!
You will receive automatic confirmation of your order then another e-mail with login details and any other information you will need.
You can pay using the following methods:
Debit/credit card via the PayPal or Create payment gateway
Select your preferred option in the payment screen.
Standard postage to UK customers is free, and discounted for international destinations with the option of a tracked service in some circumstances.
Your high quality materials pack contains everything you need to stitch the project other than an embroidery hoop. Many people already have one of these but if you don't, just click on the hoop at the bottom of this page and add to your basket (a 7" hoop is the best fit).
You may also need a pair of embroidery scissors if you don't have a pair (we do left and right handed ones!) and a flexi hoop for mounting but you can mount in your ring frame also if you wish. See below for all of these items; any extra purchases will be sent with your materials pack so you will be ready to start!
There is a Facebook group for our distance learning courses, so if you are a Facebook user and would like to join this group then let me know (in the special instructions box) and I will send you an invite!
